His pigeonloft is for 95% based on two strains: SUPER BARCA 621 x MONT VENTOUX of Gebroeders Jacobs and the GOLDEN SUPER COUPLE 100 x 10 of Nico Volkens!

Having put the Jacobs pigeons from Gertjan Rigter and the Volkens pigeons from his pigeonmate Hennie de Vries together and crossbreeding with them, soon it was clear that the offspring were super! The orientation skills & the willpower of the Jacobs pigeons combined with the endurance of the Nico Volkens pigeons created a kind of pigeon which is hard to beat.

How did his successtory start? Gertjan Rigter purchased 7 children of the SUPER BARCA 621 and 4 children of the MONT VENTOUX from the Jacobs brothers ten years ago. The SUPER BARCA 621 was a big champion at the ZLU flights (winner of 1st National Ace Perpignan 3 years ZLU, 9th National Perpignan and 15th National Barcelona) and later he became the stock pigeon of theGebroeders Jacobs. But let’s not forget to mention the other super breeder of the Gebroeders Jacobs, the MONT VENTOUX ! Two sons from the MONT VENTOUX are the fathers of the two 2nd National winners on the loft of Gertjan in 2018!!
